Job Description:

The Payroll Assistant (Semi-Bilingual) is an entry-level support role responsible for assisting the Payroll team with day-to-day payroll operations. This position is designed to reduce workload bottlenecks by providing administrative and operational support, ensuring timely and accurate payroll processing for the Colombia account.

This is a low-complexity, fully onsite role that requires strong attention to detail, basic payroll knowledge, and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Practical experience and technical skills are valued more highly than formal academic qualifications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Payroll team with daily payroll administrative tasks.
  • Review and interpret payroll and time & attendance information to ensure data accuracy.
  • Assist with payroll calculations, payroll cutoffs, projections, and attendance validations.
  • Help identify and resolve payroll discrepancies before payroll processing.
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll deductions, attendance records, and payroll calculations.
  • Maintain payroll records while ensuring confidentiality and compliance with company policies.
  • Prepare and update payroll reports using Microsoft Excel.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to gather payroll-related information and documentation.
  • Provide operational support to improve workflow efficiency and reduce payroll processing bottlenecks.

Qualifications:

Our most successful candidates will have:

  • Relevant experience in payroll, HR administration, or payroll support roles.
  • Basic understanding of payroll concepts, including:
    • Payroll cycles and cutoffs
    • Attendance management
    • Payroll projections
    • Payroll deductions and employee inquiries
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and Outlook skills.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret payroll and attendance data.
  • Basic English communication skills (reading and writing) are desirable but not mandatory.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and accuracy.
  • Customer-service mindset with the ability to communicate clearly with employees.
