Job Description:

Sutherland is looking for a highly skilled Lead Software Engineer with strong experience in Healthcare Integration. The ideal candidate should have hands-on expertise in HL7, FHIR, Mirth Connect, .NET, and SQL Server to design, develop, and support healthcare interoperability solutions. Experience in the US Healthcare domain is highly preferred.

Responsibilities: 

  • Keep management updated: Relay vital information in the form of timely and accurate reports
  • Impact the bottom line: Produce solid and effective strategies based on accurate and meaningful data reports and analysis and/or keen observations
  • Define Sutherland’s reputation: Oversee and manage performance and service quality to guarantee customer satisfaction; provide coaching and feedback to CSRs
  • Strengthen relationships: Establish and maintain communication with clients and/or team members; understand needs, resolve issues, and meet expectations
  • Take the lead: Monitor calls/chats/e-mails as per defined sample plan and targets; report out any ZT cases and take necessary action; perform RCA and take corrective actions for defects identified during monitoring; drive quality awareness and improvement initiatives across program

Qualifications:

Qualifications

  • Experience: 6–10 Years
  • Education: B.E./B.Tech./MCA or equivalent.
  • Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience working in Agile Scrum teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver within committed timelines.

Functional Domain

  • Experience in US Healthcare and healthcare interoperability projects is highly preferred.

Required Technical Skills

  • 6+ years of experience in software development.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Mirth Connect (NextGen Connect).
  • Strong knowledge of HL7 v2.x, FHIR R4, and CCDA.
  • Experience with C#, ASP.NET MVC/.NET Core, Web API.
  • Strong SQL Server skills including Stored Procedures, Functions, Views, Performance Tuning, and Query Optimization.
  • Experience with REST APIs, JSON, XML, XSLT, and XPath.
  • Experience with Git, Azure DevOps/TFS, and CI/CD practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain healthcare integration solutions using Mirth Connect, HL7, and FHIR.
  • Develop backend applications using  .NET and SQL Server.
  • Build and support healthcare interfaces involving HL7 v2.x, FHIR, CCDA, and X12 EDI (270/271, 276/277, 278, 834, 835, 837).
  • Analyze business and technical requirements and provide scalable integration solutions.
  • Develop and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, and database objects.
  • Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement timely resolutions.
  • Support client onboarding, deployments, UAT, production releases, and post-production support.
  • Collaborate with Business Analysts, QA, Infrastructure, and customer teams throughout the SDLC.
  • Participate in solution design, code reviews, technical estimations, and Agile Scrum ceremonies.
  • Mentor junior developers on healthcare integration standards and coding best practices.
  • Ensure adherence to coding standards, security guidelines, and development processes.
  • Identify opportunities for automation and continuous process improvement.
