Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Senior QA Engineer (Data / BI / Analytics) to ensure the quality, accuracy, and reliability of our data platforms, reporting solutions, and analytics systems. The ideal candidate will have strong experience testing large datasets, complex data pipelines, and BI/reporting tools such as SSRS and Tableau, along with excellent SQL and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Validate data accuracy, completeness, and integrity across data warehouses, ETL processes, and reporting systems
- Develop and execute test strategies for large-scale datasets and complex data loads/pipelines
- Perform validation of SSRS/Tableau reports against source systems
- Write complex SQL queries for data profiling, reconciliation, and validation
- Review data transformations, mappings, and business logic
- Identify data quality issues and work closely with engineering and BI teams to resolve them
- Create and maintain detailed test plans, test cases, and documentation
- Contribute to QA automation for data validation (where applicable)
- Mentor junior QA engineers and champion data quality best practices
Required Skills & Experience:
- 5 to 7 years of experience in Data/BI/Analytics QA
- Strong expertise in SQL(advanced querying & analysis)
- Hands-on experience testing:
- Data warehouses / data marts
- Complex ETL pipelines and data flows
- Large structured datasets
- Experience validating SSRS and/or Tableau-based reports
- Strong understanding of data models, joins, aggregations, and transformations
- Proven ability to analyze and troubleshoot complex data issues
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience working with cross-functional data and analytics teams
- Experience with data QA automation frameworks
- Exposure to big data platforms or cloud data solutions
- Knowledge of Python or scripting for data validation
- Experience in regulated / enterprise environments
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data/Analytics, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Hybrid work model, employees are required to work from the office on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
- Working Hours: India shift ends at either 11:30 PM IST / 2:00 AM EST or 12:30 AM IST / 3:00 AM EST.
- Work Location: Hyderabad / Chennai / Pune
