Job Description:
The North American Director of Influencer Relations role directly adds to our pipeline and impacts the successful closure of business through partnerships and invitations to participate in competitive bidding processes. In addition to building trusted relationships between sourcing advisors and our vertical and horizontal business heads, this role will grow, enhance, and curate the 360° relationship between our Verticals and Horizontals and the analysts’ community. They will continuously modify their patch of analysts and advisors to align with the needs of their internal customers.
This role additionally plays a critical role in amplifying our Brand and reputation across these two communities and, subsequently, out to the market. The ideal candidate will possess a combination of strategic thinking, relationship-building skills, and a proactive approach to expanding Sutherland’s presence and success in the market. They will have existing relationships in geographically based sourcing advisory firms and strong roots in business development.
In this Director-level role, you’ll lead the development and execution of a comprehensive strategy to engage sourcing advisors and analyst firms across North America. Your mission is to increase Sutherland’s inclusion in RFPs, deepen joint selling opportunities, and ensure that our capabilities are well-positioned in advisor recommendations and analyst coverage.
You will serve as the key interface between Sutherland’s industry and functional leaders and the influencer ecosystem. This includes customizing and continuously evolving the analyst/advisor engagement plan to ensure alignment with internal priorities. You’ll also be responsible for amplifying the company’s market presence through trusted third-party endorsements and insights, while ensuring that external messaging reinforces Sutherland’s differentiation and competitive edge.
This role requires a deep understanding of the North American advisory landscape, along with a demonstrated ability to drive influence, build credibility, and deliver measurable impact.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Influencer Engagement Strategy
- Develop and execute a dynamic engagement strategy with North American sourcing advisors and analyst firms.
- Drive invitations to competitive bids and elevate Sutherland’s participation in advisor-led buying decisions.
Relationship Management & Growth
- Build and maintain high-value, trust-based relationships with sourcing advisors and industry analysts.
- Evolve a portfolio of key influencers, regularly curating engagement activities to reflect internal strategic shifts.
Internal Alignment & Stakeholder Engagement
- Serve as a trusted advisor to internal Vertical and Horizontal leaders, aligning influencer strategy with business objectives.
- Facilitate analyst and advisor interactions including capability briefings, feedback sessions, and GtM alignment discussions.
Brand Amplification & Reputation Management
- Enhance Sutherland’s brand recognition across analyst and advisor channels.
- Shape market perception through targeted engagements, published research, and third-party validations.
Analytics & Optimization
- Track and report on influencer engagement effectiveness, bid influence, and market reach.
- Continuously optimize influencer strategies based on data-driven insights and feedback from internal teams.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Engineering, or a related field (MBA preferred).
- Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in business development, strategic partnerships, or influencer relations, preferably within the BPO industry
- Strong existing relationships with regional sourcing advisory firms and industry analysts
- Deep understanding of Digital Engineering, emerging technologies, and the US business landscape
- Proven ability to develop and maintain relationships with Management and consultants
- Experience with relations based sales
- Experience in executing Go-to-Market (GtM) strategies and competitive positioning
- Demonstrated leadership experience in managing teams and stakeholder relationships
- Proven history of working with sourcing advisors
